I'm so excited that you are interested in choosing me to document your family... I believe in real moments and capturing you being your true self. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that can be felt as art, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I began my photography interest when I was very young. I started out primarily with fine art travel images that were sold in local home boutiques in Ohio. Then in 2002 a good friend asked me to photograph her newborn...then it just snowballed and becoming a portrait photographer was a "happy mistake" I am so grateful to do what I do and to meet the people I have met along the way. There is something so touching about walking into a client or friends home and seeing framed images on their walls that I took. I am beyond grateful for, in some small, way being a part of their life and documenting their life journey.

After photographing hundreds of portrait sessions over the past few years, we’ve found that we’re not the perfect fit for every family. That’s why this process begins with a conversation to make sure you really understand my photographic style & feel, answer any questions and go from there.
LET's CONNECT
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place. That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because we would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
LOCATION
Keep it simple and wear what you love. For senior shoots we would like you to keep it to no more than 3 outfits, but if your having trouble deciding bring along a couple more and I can help you make the final selections.
waRDROBE STYLING
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to corporate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about two hours from start to finish.
The SEssion
All images from our sessions are typically delivered within about 3-4 weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery. This gallery is password protected for your privacy and will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media.
Your gallery will remain active for six weeks.
DELIVERY
We are proud to offer our clients a variety of ways to turn their images into keepsakes. Wall-mounted canvas prints, gallery style framed prints to decorate your home, beautiful handmade albums and more.
And we offer a lifetime guarantee on all our products so you never have to worry about the quality of your investments fading over time! What a special way to remember this season you’re in!

SESSION FEES
I know for most it's a bit of a drive but Bryn Du Mansion is an amazing location for any session. They are located in Granville about 40 minutes from Dublin.

Franklin Park Conservatory (outside) is another location I love. Starting at The Wells Barn located in the rear of the main conservatory building and just wandering the grounds enjoying all the gardens while we shoot.

Located in Hilliard Homestead Park is beautiful. There is a lake, covered bridge, two barns, lots of green space with trees and huge wild flower garden.
HOMESTEAD PARK

Prairie Oaks is a larger metro park located in West Jefferson and worth the drive. It has a very large lake, walking trails, fields of wild flowers and a large bridge that spans a river.

Trabue Park is quiet and pretty, there are two lakes, walking trails, log cabin and wild flowers. Its very peaceful there never to busy so its an great place for a session as you almost feel you have the park to yourself.

FIND INSPIRATION
With the growth of online shops, shopping for your littles is more fun than ever! We recommend choosing color families (neutrals, blues, etc) over perfectly matching outfits. Keeping the clothing neutral is something I prefer as we want their face and emotion to be the focus and not be over shadowed by strong clothing.
For little ones
When picking outfits I recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” For example, if Dad is wearing a blue and pink pastel plaid shirt, Mom may want to choose a long, soft blue dress. It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” such as pastels or muted colors. I also like girls to look like girls so if your on the fence about a dress or pants go for the dress. Usually fabric from a dress will move with a breeze and it just adds something (motion and softness) to an image that I love. I also recommend avoiding large patterns or bold, vibrant jewel tones such as red, royal blue, kelly green etc.
WHAT TO WEAR
Less is more
WARDROBE STYLING
The sooner the better! Our weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to us, the more likely you are to get your desired date. However, try to have a backup date in mind as well, since we shoot outdoors weather can be an issue. So if its looking like rain we can re-schedule.
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let us know!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, we take photos for a living and we even feel like a deer in the headlights when we're in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and we coach you through images, we think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. We're well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
We're Awkward and my kids don't sit still.
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule.
Often, when we're scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, we'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather is bad on the original date.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
